Transformers II: Rise of the Fallen. (USA, 2009)

Michael Bay has done it again... exactly the same way he has been doing it.
Wide senital shots (directly over the scene), Massive destructions and explosions, Shots at ground level, Extreme actor Close ups, Cool cars, Cool people, Gorgeous girls living in a Cool World. Plus, the Cars! My Goood! Amazing how some Hollywood think tank came up with this one! "Who could be more passionate, more extremist, more strict on making sure Cars look good on screen?!" Well, former Automotive Commercials enterperneur Michael Bay. Obviously, the way the Autobots look will not be an issue.
Story wise, almost 3 hours of helicopters, submarines, 18-wheelers and buildings being wrecked by Huuuge robot like entities from outer space, seems hardly much of a nerv-touching lesson to be absorbed. Of course, 3 hours is never enough to see such epic destruction "live". Neither are 3 hours of Megan Fox, whom in my opinion, steals the show. At the very end, one almost could feel that she's a good promising actress (don't get me wrong, she's not bad, but the instant you see her entrance... Ufff!).
Ok, Descepticons arrive on Earth for vengance. Naturally, the U.S.Army thinks it's an invasion and, like in the real world, resort to violence and fire power. Good they did, cuz "The Fallen"'s plan was to destroy the planet. All the Bad Guys want is some sort of power cells, Energon. To get 'em, they must destroy the sun. All this would be dandy, except that we are using the sun! To top that up, "The Fallen" has some kind of grudge against Humans for helping the Autobots, millenia ago, to avoid this planetcide. The cool thing about Autobots, and Transformers in general, was the cool idea of having or owning things that not only work as what they are suppossed to, but also transform into a thinking, talking, buddy kinda robot. Descepticons don't have to desguise themselves. They were always bad, always from another planet, so they don't transform much and they always look outwordly.
Photograpy is great, Sound is superb, (Michael Bay's) Framing is awsome. There is, nonetheless, quite a confusion in Continuity. Eventhough it's not forgivable on such a budget (and fan based) movie, the lenght and (apparent) lack of true storyline due to the plethora of effects involved, may grant some leeway on continuity and story glitches. Couple of new Autobot characters seem to be today's C-3Pos. Not being useful, starving for attention, till they finally made sense in the story... I guess the producers called for some wise-crack, kid-appealing gimmick and hoped it worked. Creative licence shines bright. Autobot girls, naturally, had to be Motorcycles, also new. And the always likable Bumble-Bee, now a slick looking Chevy, shows us the tender, friendly side of the heartfelt relationship between Man and his Protective Robot, plus Kicking some Major Descepticon Butt! Man! Bumble-Bee Rocks! Rember Transformers 1? Remember how at the end you jumped off the stool screaming on "Bee's" awsomeness?! Well, he won't let you down!
Over all the Effects are supreme, the story is kinda weak, tons of new characters to like and dislike, and a stale flavour in our mouth when you look at the time and realize it took that long and you didn't even notice... being at the edge of your sit and all.
Now I just want to see what Megan Fox does next.
